Beyond The Cover...Living Books

Beyond the Cover is a library of books – except the books are people.  A reader can check out these Living Books and have a conversation with them for 20 minutes.  The conversation will focus on whatever the Living Book shares as part of their story.

Beyond the Cover...Living Books is purposed to increase dis/ability awareness and to decrease stigma through conversation. 

Living Books are expected to present themselves in an authentic way through a positive exchange. Books and readers are asked to treat each other with tolerance and respect.

When:  October 20th 11am-2pm

Where: MSJC Virtual Library, for security purposes, registration is required

**The Password for the meeting will be sent in an email confirmation after registering 

• Student will gain a better understanding of the struggles, similarities, and successes that students with disabilities have compared to themselves
• DSPS student will feel more connected to the MSJC community as the veil and stigma of attending college with a disability is removed
