Gertrude holds the distinction of being the longest consecutively published queer journal. They have published work by over 300 individuals from more than 35 U.S. states and 11 countries worldwide.

Foglifter was created by and for LGBTQ+ writers and readers and continues the San Francisco Bay Area’s tradition of groundbreaking queer and trans writing, with an emphasis on publishing those multi-marginalized (BIPOC, youth, elders, and people with disabilities).
