LGBTQ+ Studies Banner

LGBTQ+ Studies, or Queer studies, is defined by the Historical Dictionary of the Lesbian and Gay Movements as, "an emerging theoretical academic field of study that questions accepted ideas of sexual and sociopolitical identity and community. Queer studies is an outgrowth of gay studies, gender studies, and women's studies..."

This research guide provides information and resources from a variety of academic disciplines, to help you learn about the experiences and perspectives of members of the LGBTQ+ community. Below you can find information on LGBTQ+ Studies terminology, and a gallery of some of the resources available in the MSJC Library collections.
